Composed of sugar-like grains of microcrystalline quartz, jasper derived its name from a Greek word meaning "spotted stone". Found throughout the world, jasper can incorporate up to 20% foreign materials; thus, its seemingly infinite variety of colourful patterns.

Some key attributes and keywords associated with the most commonly seen jaspers are: physical strength and vitality, connection with nature, slowing the aging process, grounding, discipline and perseverance, and balance.

As jasper is usually found in "masses" rather than "crystalline points", almost all jaspers are cut then shaped, or tumbled and polished. We have an extensive selection of polished and shaped jaspers such as hearts, wands, slabs, points and tumbled pieces.
