Citrine

Part of the quartz family and closely related to amethyst, citrine can be created when amethyst is exposed to high temperatures either naturally or by man. Naturally occurring citrine is generally pale yellow to smoky golden in colour, whereas man-made (often called heat-treated) citrine is deep amber to orange, often with darker tips (can look like burnt sugar). Citrine's name was derived from the French word for lemon—citron.

No matter how created, citrine is believed to stimulate the imagination; thus, is thought of as a stone of manifestation, personal will, mental clarity, and creativity.

Our selection, which is mostly naturally occurring citrine, ranges from single natural points, multiple point clusters and druses to small and large polished points. As well, we have a tall Cathedral geode and some citrine drusy clusters created by heat-treatment. Citrine is also a very popular crystal when used in jewelry.
